New Boundary Technologies previews new products at Develop with Deere 2018

Minneapolis, Minnesota - January 22nd, 2018: New Boundary Technologies announced today that the company will be showcasing two new Smart Farming applications using its RemoteAware™ Internet of Things (IoT) application service at John Deere’s Develop with Deere 2018 conference.  The conference will be held from January 23-25, 2018 in Kansas City.

The new Smart Barn application monitors a broad range of sensors and equipment, including:

  • Barn environmental conditions, such as temperature, CO2, and humidity
  • Energy usage for power, lighting, and other sensors
  • Door open events

Farmers receive alerts when critical thresholds are exceeded.  Visibility to barn conditions optimizes production while reducing risks.

The new Anhydrous Nurse Wagon tracking application uses low-cost cellular technology to provide a view of nurse wagon location and tank levels.  Alerts are sent  when wagons are ready to be refilled.   Real-time visibility lets dealers and cooperatives provide growers with just-in-time anhydrous delivery while increasing nurse wagon utilization.

“The number of sensors in agriculture is proliferating rapidly as new wireless technologies drive down the cost of “Internet of Things” monitoring and control applications,”   said Kim Pearson, New Boundary Technology CEO.  “We are excited to grow our portfolio of Smart Farming applications to help growers produce more while using fewer resources.”

Both new applications connect to the John Deere Operation Center through John Deere’s API services.  This connection gives farmers and service providers alerts in the Operations Center when remote assets require attention based on sensor readings that exceed user-defined thresholds.
